Your injection moulding partner for quality solutions
We are excited to share several recent developments that support our continued growth and expanding capabilities at GAP Plastics:
1,000-tonne moulding machine installed

We have recently installed and commissioned a 1,000-tonne Negri Bossi injection moulding machine at our Glossop site. With the capacity to handle shot weights of up to 5kg (PS), this press is perfect for producing larger products such as:
Plastic chairs
Large storage boxes
Pallets and crates
Oil and gas clamps
Gardening products
Automotive and transport parts

This addition expands our manufacturing capabilities and enables us to serve more sectors with precision and efficiency.

New overhead crane for heavy tooling

To support the new 1,000t press and ensure faster, safer tool changes, we have also upgraded our building’s overhead crane system. The new crane now allows us to handle tools up to 6.4 tonnes, helping us streamline operations and improve turnaround times on our largest moulding jobs.

7-Axis robot installed on 1,000t machine

To further our automation efforts, we will be adding a 7-axis robot to the new 1,000t press. This means every machine at GAP Plastics will be fully robot-equipped for picking, placing, and packing.
Why automation matters:
Robots ensure consistent and accurate handling of products
Large mouldings are managed gently to minimise damage
By removing the manual element, we reduce the risk of scratches and improve part presentation

This investment ensures that customer parts are delivered in top condition, every time.

New warehouse for increased storage capacity

With business continuing to grow, we have secured and fully fitted out a new warehouse located within the same industrial park as our main site. This new space enables us to:
Hold more raw materials and finished goods
Offer better stock availability for key customers
Respond faster to changing order demands

The warehouse features energy-efficient LED lighting, a new forklift truck, two articulated lorry loading bays, and extensive pallet racking, all designed to support our increasing throughput.

These developments reflect our continued commitment to innovation, efficiency, and customer service. To learn more about how our expanded capabilities can support your next project contact our team today.
